Assessment of Municipal Resource Conservation Performance
This project reviews local government policy regarding natural resource conservation in a sampling of 44 New Jersey towns. Within these towns lie some of New Jersey’s most valued and sensitive natural resources and landscapes. However, local and state policies, an absence of tools and support, and intermittent commitments to environmental protection are increasingly putting these lands at risk for development, often far beyond their carrying capacity.
