Peter Reinhart, the current director of the Kislak Real Estate Institute at Monmouth University and chairman of New Jersey Future’s board of trustees, has been named to Monmouth University’s first endowed chair in real estate policy. The Arthur and Dorothy Greenbaum and Robert Ferguson/New Jersey Realtors Endowed Chair in Real Estate Policy, in the university’s Leon Hess Business School, was named in honor of the late Robert Ferguson, who served as executive vice president of New Jersey Realtors for nearly 40 years, and Arthur Greenbaum, senior partner at Greenbaum, Rowe, Smith & Davis, LLC, who received the first Monmouth University Kislak Real Estate Institute Leadership Excellence Award in 1994.
“We are fortunate to have someone with Peter Reinhart’s skills and experience leading the board at New Jersey Future,” said the organization’s executive director, Peter Kasabach. “Peter understands the many complex issues surrounding growth and development in New Jersey, and his outstanding ability to synthesize and convey critical concepts, in both his writing and his teaching, is helping to ensure that a new generation of real estate practitioners will understand them too. This honor is richly deserved.”
Besides his roles at Monmouth University and as New Jersey Future’s board chairman, Mr. Reinhart is vice chairman of the board of trustees of Meridian Health Corporation; past chairman of the Jersey Shore Partnership; and past president of the New Jersey Builders Association. He was senior vice president and general counsel for Hovnanian Enterprises, Inc., for 33 years, and served on the Council on Affordable Housing for 10 years. He was also a member of the Real Estate Task Force of Governor Christine Todd Whitman’s Economic Master Plan Commission.
