New Book Offers Regional Planning Solutions That Work
November 14th, 2011 by Chris Sturm
Regional Planning for a Sustainable America describes how creative programs are promoting prosperity and saving the environment. The book brings together the expertise of 42 practitioners and academics to provide a practical guide to the key strategies that regional planners are using in New Jersey and across the nation.
Edited by Pinelands Preservation Alliance director (and New Jersey Future trustee) Carleton Montgomery and released in October, the book can be previewed and purchased at regionalplans.org and amazon.com.
The two chapters I previewed were readable and inspiring. The hope is that this book will equip planners and decision-makers with effective approaches to get the kinds of truly sustainable growth and natural resource conservation that we all want for ourselves and our offspring.
This is a great resource for anyone involved in planning and smart growth.
