Tell NJ’s Senators to Stand up for Transit Riders in New Jersey!
May 11th, 2010 by Jay Corbalis
The recent service cuts and fare hikes at NJ Transit were a serious blow to the thousands of New Jersey residents who rely on public transportation. They were also part of a trend of service cuts and fare hikes at transit agencies across the country, as detailed in T4 America’s new report, Stranded at the Station. A strong transit system is not only crucial to mobility in New Jersey, but is also a major source of economic development and a driver of sustainable land-use patterns.
Now, Congress has a chance to aid transit agencies struggling with deficits and cuts, but they need to hear from you! Please take a moment to call New Jersey’s Senators and tell them you support emergency funding for NJ Transit and other transit agencies across the country!

–Senator Lautenberg

You can also take action by sending a message to Congress asking for increased funding of transit through T4 America’s website.
